Nitrogen oxide(NOx) is one of the major air pollutants, and it is emissioned mainly from coal-fired power plants. The selective catalytic reduction(SCR) technology is often used for the control of NOx emissions in coal-fired power plants. The catalyst which is the core part of the SCR technology, which decides the denitrification performance and cost of the technology.The V2O5/AC medium temperature SCR catalysts were prepared using the cheap activated carbon as a carrier using wetting impregnation calcination. The denitrification performance of the as-prepared V2O5/AC catalyst was up to 80% at 300-400℃. The effect of loading of three kinds of metal ions(Mn O、Cu O、Fe2O3) on the catalyst performance was studied in this thesis.The denitrification performance of catalyst can be enhanced when the V2O5 is loaded while three kinds of metal ion(Mn O、Cu O、Fe2O3) are loaded at the same time. The V2O5/AC catalyst loaded a small amount of Mn O can enhance the nitrate removal capacity of the catalyst. And loading a small amount of Cu O can get a better denitrification performacnce, but decrease the thermal stability of catalyst. In contrast, salt solution which was loaded a small amount of Fe2O3 was the best.The as-prepared catalysts were characterized by means of low-temperature N2 adsorption and fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy.The results showed that the loaded V2O5 reduced the catalyst surface area, but increased the volume of mesopore, so the denitrification performance of V2O5/AC was better than that of AC.The acidification of low concentrations of H2SO4, HNO3, HCl was favorable for the denitrification performance of catalyst. The acidification effect of HNO3 is the best among the three acids,because it increaseds oxygen functional groups on the surface of catalyst.
