| A lot of people have been attracted by traditional Miao clothing production techniques of Shidong in Guizhou. Therefore, Miao women with the technique have developed at different levels. The social “needlework†plays an important role in the study of women under the background of the society change.The paper refers the women with the techniques in Tangba village located in Shidong town, tries to reflect the meaning of the life experience of these women and the construction of the meaning through social participation and career development. In the traditional Miao society, traditional clothing technique was an essential part of women’s social role. In this case, social space of the women was shaped, while the thoughts of people were locked. In social transition period, Miao women started to break the traditional bondage to embrace a bigger and better possibility. Therefore, cloth making no longer belonged only to these women. In new period, the way of communication and social spaces of these Miao women are changing, along with the stream of pop culture.The growing of these women and expanding of their social space will be discussed to provide us their life information in different period and strategy with which the Miao women dealt in the changing society, based on the interactive relationship between the technique having gender characteristics and these women. At the same time, the traditional technique as a complex and subtle body practice skill connects the culture, economic factors of Miao society. |
