The paper is about the research of porous medium burner for the ultra-low calorific gas. The main content of the article is about the stable combustion limit of porous medium burner when the burner filled with different modular structure of porous media.The research of the porous medium burner is a new way for the efficient and clean use of fuel.The paper explores three types of modular structure using the method of Experiment and simulation,such as CAPM-A-type,CAPM-B-type and CAPM-C-type structure.In the CAPM-A-type structure,the pore size of porous medium from upstream to downstream becomes smaller and the CAPM-B-type structure is opposite to this.The results show that CAPM-B-type structure is better than CAPM-A-type structure, in terms of calorific value of adaptability and low emissions.The minimum calorific value is 1.2MJ/Nm3 when the porous medium burner Filled with CAPM-B-type structure.The minimum calorific value is 1.4MJ/Nm3 when the porous medium burner Filled with CAPM-A-type structure. Considering the effection on the fresh gas,the paper puts forward the CAPM-C-type structure.The difference between the CAPM-B-type structure and CAPM-C-type structure is that the pore size of porous medium Closing to the wall is smaller when the porous medium burner Filled with CAPM-C-type structure.The results show that CAPM-B-type structure is better than CAPM-C-type structure, in terms of calorific value of adaptability and low emissions.The minimum calorific value is 1.5MJ/Nm3 when the porous medium burner Filled with CAPM-C-type structure.The results for each modular structure show that the power range of stable combustion increases with the increasion of calorific value.When the calorific value is a certain one,the power of fire off limit is greater than the power of tempering limit.The emissions of tempering limit is greater than the emissions of fire off limit.With the increase of calorific value, the power range of stable combustion becomes bigger.The emissions of carbon monoxide increase greatly when the calorific value of gas reduces. The Comparative results show that CAPM-B-type structure is the best one in terms of calorific value of adaptability and low emissions. The minimum calorific value is 1.2MJ/Nm3 and the minimum Combustion intensity is 61.15 kW/m2.
