With the rapid development of laser application in ranging, guidance, radar and other techniques and deep research on space exploration technology and satellite remote sensing technology, the atmospheric radiative transfer technology has been widely used in military. For a long time, the transmission of the radiation in many fields, such as electron, transmission, detection, localization, science, has attracted great attentions and has made rapid development within nearly half a century.In recent years, due to the gradual deterioration of the various forms of pollution on earth, and gradually affects the distribution of various atmospheric gases. The density and content of various molecules have the most direct impact on the attenuation of the radiation energy of the atmospheric molecules absorption. With the rapid development of industrial technology, the increasing waste of automobile exhaust emissions, the frequently occurring of the urban haze and the increment of the haze particle consistency, haze has attracted people’s attention. Though there are many haze particle consistency measurement instruments, these instruments can measure once haze weather or certain regional distribution of haze particle due to the randomness of haze appeared, its uncertainty severity degree, instability of particulate matter distribution, as well as a serious lack of available information. Thus, a more general research system on haze of atmospheric infrared radiate transmission characteristics is proposed in this paper. A more universal particle spectrum distribution model is built by the meteorological data and the analysis of the measured haze particle consistency. Further, combined with the Mie scattering theory, the absorption, scatter and attenuation characteristics of the haze particle are calculated, respectively. Then, its thermal radiation is calculated. Finally, for the transmission part, in order to obtain more realistic and reliable results, its transmission characteristics is calculated by MODTRAN by leave out of consideration of the influence of scattering.The development status of atmospheric radiation transmission characteristics as well as its enormous significance of its application is described in this paper, firstly. The importance of the research on the infrared radiation characteristics of haze is analyzed. Then, we introduce the basic theory of the infrared radiation of haze and the common radiation variables of calculating the infrared radiation and analyze the reason that the attenuation of the atmospheric radiate transmission. By the analysis of the atmospheric structure and the related parameters, the complex refractive index database of particles is established in accordance with the actual haze situation. By the reasonable choice of temperature and altitude and combined with Mie scattering theory, the scattering, attenuation and absorption factor of the haze particle are calculated, respectively. Then, the scattering, attenuation and absorption coefficient of the particle system are calculated, respectively. Finally, the infrared radiation characteristics in 3~5μm is calculated. The proposed method is more universal and has a more extensive application in the target recognition in haze weather.
