CaO-SiO2-AbO3-MgO-TiO2 system is one of the most important slags in metallurgy process. Investigation on the liquid temperature of CaO-SiO2-Al2P3-MgO-TiO2 system will not only validate and optimize liquidus of the titanium bearing slag system diagram, enrich and perfect phase information, but also provide an important basis for the smelting of titanium bearing blast furnace slag and metallurgical slags, having an important guiding significance in comprehensive utilization of slag resources and extraction of TiO2 minerals.In the present work, the liquidus temperature was concluded by the melting temperature which determined by the single hot thermocouple technique for the CaO-SiO2-10%Al2O3-MgO-5%TiO2 phase diagram system. The phase equilibrium relationship was determined experimentally at 1300℃ using the quenched technique followed by XRF、XRD and SEM-EDS analysis. The results in this paper as follows:(1) With the increase of w(CaO)/w(SiO2), The melting temperature increase gradually, and the melting temperature of 10% content of MgO was higher than 5% content of MgO at the same w(CaO)/w(SiO2).(2) The melting temperature from present research was in good agreement with the result from phase diagram reported in Slag Atlas, which proves the feasility in determination of melting temperature by single thermal couple method.(3) The relationship of melting temperature and w(CaO)/w(SiO2) was constructed based on the thermodynamic principle for different primary crystal regions.(4) The liquidus in specific primary crystal region were plotted based on the calculated result from the equations and experiment data for different primary crystal regions.(5) The phase of L with (C2MS2,C2AS)ss was determinated for CaO-SiO2-10%Al2O3-MgO-5% TiO2 system at 1300℃, which was in consist with the reported phase diagram.
