Putaohua reservoir in the N block of Daqing Changyuan peripheral oilfield has the characteristic of low porosity. The thickness of reservoir is thin, a large number of faults grow in this block. There are some problem during the oil development. For example, the low permeability, the high filtrational resistance, the poor connectivity between the oil wells and the water wells, the quick decline rate of deliverability and so on. We have a low deliverability and economic benefit with vertical wells development. The flush production of horizontal well after the perforated completion is high, but keeps a short time. It is difficult to achieve the desired flow rate.That the paper analysed the geological structure and the reservoir quality of N block is based on the research for the development theory and technology application of horizontal well, Demonstrated the feasibility for; Established controllable frans-formational fracture standard according to the in-situ stress analysis results、the interlayer thickness and the logging data; Optimized the fractured parameters, suitable fracturing fluid and proppant and formed theory of fracturing plan for the similar reservoir; Referenced the advantage and disadvantage of present fracturing technology, then tested the technology on 10 horizontal wells and analysed the production and the economic benefit. At last this paper made a technology selection method according to the result. It develops Putaohua reservoir effectively.
