Quaternary ammonium salts have high antimicrobial abilities and good environmental protection function compared with traditional fungicide of anti-fouling coating(organotin, cuprous oxide, zinc oxide).Moreover, quaternary ammonium salts have so good hydrophilic that it can form a hydrophilic macromolecule brushes. It may greatly reduce the adherent damage of marine microorganisms to take advantage of shear force on the surface of the ship. Nowadays there are very little study of polymeric quaternary ammonium salts used in antifouling paint. so this paper started with the synthesis of polymerizable quaternary ammonium salts, and synthetized high purity and high yield rate of quaternary ammonium salt monomer to make use of the infrared, nuclear magnetic structure characterization methods. To draw lessons from the synthetise method of acrylic ester antifouling paint, and the anti-fouling coating in various proportion was synthetized to study the coating adhesion, water resistance, sterilization performance.With dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate,halogenated reagents(1-butyl bromide, Benzyl chloride) tends to have nucleophilic substitution reaction. Then, this article synthesized two acrylic acid quaternary ammonium salts monomers (DM-BB、DM-BC). By means of change the experimental conditions (reaction temperature,reaction time,solvent) and optimize the preparation technology of quaternary ammonium salt monomers and investigate the influence of different synthesis methods on the yield, finally the high purity and high yield (86.81%) of quaternary ammonium salt monomer was synthesized under these conditions of 8h reaction time, reaction temperature 90℃, solvent-free. According to the structure characterization, quaternary ammonium salt monomer was synthesized successfully.On this basis, with the method of free-radical solution polymerization, the quaternary ammonium salt monomer with butyl acrylat(BA), glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) were polymerized to make the cationic hydrophilic group and hydrophobic group in the same macromolecule chain in H2O and CH3CH2OH mixed solvent(volume ratio=1:3). By comparing water resistance test, the water resistance of poly((DM-BB)-co-BA-co-GMA) is better than the water resistance of poly((DM-BC)-co-BA-co-GMA), so the article studied poly((DM-BB)-co-BA-co-GMA) antifouling coating mainly. According to the results of TGA、contact angle test, adhesion test and impact resistance performance test, when the formula ratio of GMA:BA:DM-BB is 1:1:5, the coating performance is better. And compared with the coating that it was applied directly on the tin plate, the coating that it was applied on the tin plate with red iron oxide epoxy polyamide primer has better adhesion performance and water resistance, etc.At last, the gram-negative bacteria liquid (Aeromonas punctata) was selected to soak the coating, the coating exhibited high resistance to the adhesion of microbes by the method of field emission scanning electron microscope(SUPRA 55 SAPPHIRE).
