The Research Of Decorative Features Of Phoenix Pattern Design In Chu Implements And The Application In Contemporary Fashion Design

Phoenix is one of the representatives of Chinese traditional patterns, it’s symbol of good moral and fantastic artistic expressive force are loved by the people. Especially the Phoenix of Chu culture is influenced by Chu regional culture, formed the bright and colorful unique style. From the unearthed Chu artifacts we found that the image of phoenix patterns is rich and varied, Chu person is good at using abstraction, distortion, decomposition and other decorative techniques to deal with pattern and create vivid artistic expressive force, being similar with modern art which spans thousands of years of time and space. We take phoenix pattern in Chu artifacts as the research object, basing on collection, collation, induction about Chu Phoenix relevant atlas and literature, analyzing Chu Phoenix decorative features.This paper is divided into five parts: the introduction section discusses the background of this study, as well as the current situation of this topic, providing the idea and direction of the study. The second part of the thesis expounds the related concepts of Chu phoenix pattern, focusing on the specific image of Chu Phoenix in different artifacts. In the third part, the decorative features of Chu phoenix pattern are studied in detail from three aspects: the graph structure, the law of the arrangement of figures and the principle of the form. The fourth part analyses the case of application of decorative features and traditional patterns similar to Chu phoenix pattern in the modern fashion design. The fifth part is based on the above research, giving a large number of design practice for innovation and application of the Chu phoenix pattern, not only providing Chu phoenix pattern new visual effects, but also combined with contemporary fashion trend, heighten the modern dress more beautiful spirit and the best spirit temperament.The Chu phoenix pattern’s unique artistic creativity and expression is the later model. The thesis aim to create a new style to mix traditional elements with modern fashion through Chu phoenix practice study and application, and enrich traditional artistic vitality for traditional patterns as a result.
