In recent years, BiOX photocatalyst development speedily. Due to the conduction band position is more negative, BixOy X(X=Cl,Br,I) as the new bismuth-based photocatalysts in BiOX family can effectively activate molecular oxygen performance, and have higher photocatalytic activity, then the application of BixOy X(X=Cl,Br,I) become more widely.In this paper, it was divided into two sections: we synthesized Bi5O7X(X=Br, I) photocatalysts by hydrothermal synthesis and solid phase synthesis with Bi(NO3)3.5H2 O as a bismuth source, KI as a halogen source, CTAB as a surfactant and NaOH 1 mol/L as a solvent base, and They were characterized by x-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEM), selected area electron diffraction(SAED), field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM) and UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(DRS), x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), Photoluminescence(PL) spectr, etc. Then then the application of the inhibition the growth of E.coli by their photocatalytic activity was completed.(1) Bi5O7 I rods and Bi5O7 I sheets based photocatalytic materials were synthesized by a hydrothermal method and solid phase conversion at 450 ℃ for 2 h, respectively. And they were characterized. The {001} and {100} facets exposure of Bi5O7 I rods could result in synergetic and internal electric field effects simultaneously, it showed considerably higher photocatalytic activity than Bi5O7 I sheets. The photocatalytic results showed that Shape-dependent photocatalytic activity of Bi5O7 I caused by facets synergetic and internal electricfield effects.(2) Bi5O7 Br was firstly synthesized by a hydrothermal method, and researched its photocatalytic properties firstly. Compared to BiOBr, Bi5O7 Br showed effectively photocatalytic activity for RhB degradation under UV–vis light irradiation.(3) Application of the photocatalytic antibacterial. Preperation Of Bi5O7X(X=Br,I) suspension and E.coli bacteria, then the application of the inhibition the growth of E.coli by their photocatalytic activities, and the bacteriostasis results were evaluated through the size and sparse of plaque. It showed that the antibacterial effect was obvious for for Bi5O7 I.
