Brominated flame retardants(BFRs), which is widely used in electronic and electrical appliances, textile, petrochemical and other products. may cause potential harm to the environment and the human and have a long residence time in indoor, In this study, the novel brominated flame retardants(NBFRs) was used as the target, the indoor air was studied as the research object and the pollution level of NBFRs in indoor air of Hangzhou was investigated. Furthermore, the emission characteristics of NBFRs and PBDEs( Brominated polybrominated diphenyl ether)and the effect of dust on the emission of BFRs were studied. The results were presented as follows:(1) In this study, Some or all of the NBFRs can be detected in all indoor air sample. HBCD and DBDPE were the pollutants which had highest test frequency. the detection rate of the both pollutants was 100%. The average concentrations of ∑16NBFRs in indoor air of Hangzhou were 2742 pg?m-3 and the concentration range was 404-8434 pg?m-3.(2) The results of NBFRs concentration in indoor air for houses and offices in Hangzhou were presented: The average concentrations of NBFRs in houses and offices were 2507 pg?m-3 and 3230 pg?m-3, respectively. The concentration range was 404-5413 pg?m-3 and 1458-8434 pg?m-3 for the houses and offices, respectively. The concentrations of NBFRs in office air were higher than that of in house, because the office was more closed and the intensive electrical appliances were used more high frequency.(3) Under room temperature(20℃), the emission rate of DBDPE、HBCD and PBDEs were 175 pg?g-1?h-1、435 pg?g-1?h-1 and 136 pg?g-1?h-1. Besides, the emission rate of other compounds was below 14.8 pg?g-1?h-1. The results showed that the temperature and the properties of the compound in the material had an influence on the emission rate of the compound.(4) The BFRs emission rate of the material that its surface was covered with dust was 1.13-4.90 times higher than that of the clean material. The research indicated that the emission of dust on the surface was conducive to the release of BFRs. Moreover, the smaller particle size of the dust can promote the emission of BFRs in material, and high content of the dust is no effect for emission of BFRs.
