Wet air oxidation is an effective technology to degrade high concentrated organic and hazardous pollutants.However,high temperature and high pressure are required in wet air oxidation which restrict its application.Wet catalytic air oxidation makes an improvement on traditional wet air oxidation.The active energy can be decreased by including catalysts in the processe and the operating condition will be gentler by this way. Wet catalytic air oxidation under normal temperature and atmospheric pressure has some advantages,such as more gentler reaction condition,low cost,high efficiency and simplified operation.It has become one of the hot subjects in the field of treatment of high concentrated organic industrical wastewater.The preparation of catalyst is a key factor of catalytic wet air oxidation,the main content of this paper is to prepare the catalyst of catalytic wet air oxidation under normal temperature and atmospheric pressure.Tranisiton metal,that is,Fe,Mn,Cu,Zn,Co and Ni are chosen as active component. The supported catalyst are prepared by the impregnation method.The degradation of the methyl orange simulated wastewater shows that Co has better catalytic activity and the granular activated carbon is proper carrier.The best of preparation technology of the Co/AC are:The pre-treatment of granular activated carbon impregnated into solution of cobalt nitrate which concentration is 0.2 mol/L for 24 hours.After filtered, the catalyst is air dried and then it was dried at 80℃ and 120℃ separately for 2 hours and 380℃ for 4 hours.The catalytic activity of the Co/AC is investigated in catalytic wet air oxidation process under room condition.After reaction about 1.5 hours,the COD removal efficency is about 85.71% and the decolorization efficency is about 99.96%.In order to improve the catalytic activity of the Co/AC, catalyst of Fe-Co/AC is prepared. The best of preparation technology of the Fe-Co/AC are:the concentration of cobaltous nitrate and ferric nitrate is 0.2 mol/L,the catalyst is roasted at 380℃ for 4 hours. The results show that the catalytic activity of Fe-Co/AC is higher than Co/AC about 6%.In order to improve the catalytic activity, potassium dioxide is added into the catalyst.The results show that the catalytic activity is a little higher than before.The repetition use of the catalyst is investigated in this paper.The results show that it can deal with the methyl orange simulated wastewater after used repeatedly and continuously 4 times.
