With the exploitation and utilization of rare earth resources, rare earth reserves are becoming lower and lower, the emergence of rare earth, which has brought new changes to the world. According to the results of the study, there are a lot of rare earth, which is the world’s first recognized. This is the first time in the world. Therefore, it is urgent to develop the key technologies of deep sea water resources exploitation and solve the technical bottleneck of the development of the deep sea resources. In the face of a new type of resource and never been explored, the paper shows that the method of the deep sea clay was studied by means of the literature search. In this paper, the experimental study on the deep sea clay was carried out, and the leaching solution of the rare earth elements into the leaching solution was proposed. The process method of three kinds of acid leaching process, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and nitric acid were put forward. In this paper, the new technology of deep sea rare earth leaching is studied. Through automatic quantitative analysis and detection equipment, such as the automatic parameter analysis and detection system, the analysis and characterization of rare earth elements in the deep sea clay in the middle of the Pacific Ocean are analyzed and characterized. The influence factors of the high leaching rate of Y in deep sea clay, such as acidity, leaching time, leaching temperature and liquid to solid ratio, were investigated. The best result of leaching ratio of rare earth element Y in Hydrochloric acid solution 94.53%, from leaching of the pelagic clay with hydrochloric acid solution (2mol/L) and liquid-solid ratio of 4/1 at 60℃ for 1 h;Compared with three kinds of acid, hydrochloric acid and nitric acid leaching rate is close to that of the effect of the sulfuric acid leaching. At the same time, enrichment process of rare earth elements in acid leaching solution was studied. Extraction and separation of rare earth in hydrochloric acid leaching solution by P535, P535 is an aromatic phosphate, The effects of feed acidity, extractant concentration, time and extraction phase ratio on the extraction of Y3+ were examined. and after three countercurrent extraction rate of 98.20% yttrium, iron extraction rate as high as 97.78%,the separation scheme of washing Fe3+ by HCl and stripping Y3+ by H2SO4 was designed by comparing the performances of two ions stripped by HCl and H2SO4 at different concentrations, iron stripping rate can reach 98%.
