Iodine is a kind of important resource and has significant effects on people’s daily life. Adsorption is one of the main methods to extract iodine from aqueous solution. This modification of activated carbon to absorb iodine and iodide preparation of layered hydroxide as adsorbent, layered hydroxides can be directly adsorbed iodine ions in solution, which greatly enhance the production efficiency of iodine.First, this paper studies the case of activated carbon adsorption of iodine. Activated carbon is baked to compare with original one on its absorption capacity of iodine. Loaded metal, acid and alkali modification, ultrasonic modification are used to modify the activated carbon. Iodine absorption is not modified before the activated carbon for the 697mg/g, iodine absorption amount after calcination of the activated carbon for the 962mg/g. Load method selected metal ions Ag+、\Mg2+、La3+、Zr4+ four metal ions on impregnated activated carbon treatment, where the load is the most obvious effect of Zr4+up to 1067mg/g. PH modification method to make a slight increase in carbon absorption iodine, iodine absorption ultrasonic modification method adds 160mg/g. Studied adsorbent dosage and initial concentration on the adsorption effect. Determine the activated carbon as adsorbent, the best adsorption time of 30min.With magnesium chloride, aluminum chloride, zinc chloride, zinc nitrate, magnesium nitrate and aluminum nitrate as raw materials prepared by co-precipitation seven kinds of layered hydroxide, carbonate of which are Mg-Al-Cl LDHs, Mg-Al-Zn-Cl LDHs, Mg-Al-Zn-NO3 LDHs and Mg-Al-NO3 LDHs, nitrate has ZnAl-NO3 LDHs, MgAl-NO3 LDHs, NiAl-NO3 LDHs and the sample was determined by the adsorption of Tperformance. Experimental results show that layered hydroxide ion to iodine adsorption certain. Studied the adsorption isotherm of LDHs, adsorbent dosage and adsorption time to adsorption of iodide ion. Nitrate LDHs enrichment effect of 200mg/g, calcined LDHs adsorption of iodide ions and improve their ability to achieve the best 300mg/g.The paper examined the layered hydroxide ions at low concentrations of iodine absorption rate,the results of 40mg/L solution of iodide ion adsorption rate can reach up to 40% at the dosage of 7g/L.
