With China entered the "Internet plus" era, manufacturing enterprises are faced with information renovation, making full use of Internet, networking, cloud services, and knowledge network to meet the ever-changing customer demand for personalized, has become the theme, combined with own status and development needs. As a high-end manufacturing equipment, the NC cutter’s applications continue to expand, the solutions are increasing correspondingly. But the traditional design mode has been unable to satisfy the requirement, the enterprises need more intelligent, more rapid, more reliable design pattern to realize the scheme design and display.Taking enterprises informatization as background, combined with the National 863 project, the multi-mode design and application in the soft material cutting scheme design were studied. The mode included 3 parts:variant design mode (knowledge based reasoning design), generative design mode (rule based reasoning design) and collaborative design mode. They cooperated with each other to design the scheme, according to the process. The multi-mode design was an evolving process, toward to intelligence. With more cases and bigger rule base, the system can independently reasoning out the optimal scheme, and no longer rely heavily on human-based collaborative design. The main contents are as follows:The first chapter was the introduction. The study background, significance was elaborated. The domestic and foreign research status related to scheme design and the key methods were analyzed, then further research contents were presented. Finally, the structure of the paper was introduced, and the research idea was discussed.The second chapter was the research of multi-mode design model. First of all, the meaning of collaborative design was explained, on the basis of which, the multi-mode design mode was put forward, and the characteristics of the model was summarized. Secondly, cloud services were introduced, a multi-mode design model based on cloud services and the structure were proposed, as well as the characteristics of the model.The third chapter was variant design technology research of multi-mode design system. In this chapter, the design flow of variant design was introduced, two key technologies, case representation and case retrieval were studied in detail. A case reasoning system framework based on ontology was proposed by using the method of ontology.The fourth chapter was the research on generative design technology for multi-mode design system. In this chapter, the design procedure was presented, the construction of the soft material cutting scheme design rules was illustrated, so as the scheme design content based on generative design.The fifth chapter was the research of multi-mode design system based on cloud services. Firstly, combining with the cooperative design technology, the related content of the multi-mode design system based on the cooperative technology was introduced. Then, the theory of the whole system was constructed whit the cloud service technology.The sixth chapter was an application example of soft material cutting scheme design process to Hangzhou iecho Science Technology Co., Ltd to verify the multi-mode design system, on the basis of the previous five chapters’theory.The last chapter were the summary and prospect. At first, the research of this paper, the main work and research innovation were summarized, then the future work was prospected.With cloud services, soft material cutting knowledge was collected and summarized, through collaborative design, and formed certain rules to design the scheme by supporting the reuse of knowledge, making the system more and more smart, steadily toward the intelligent direction.
