Petrochemical plant will produce a large number of volatile organic waste gas in t he production process (VOCs), if not treated and discharged directly, will be on the surro unding environmentcaused serious pollution and harm to human health, so it must be h andled effectively clean before it goes into the atmosphere of organic waste gases. The organic waste gas treatment technology withcondensation, absorption method, adsorption method, combustion method. Catalytic combustion method has the advantages of simple process, convenient operation, is the main treatment methodfor organic waste gas contai ning production of petroleum chemical industry, food, material etc.PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical Co organic synthesis factory is specializing in the production ofstyrene butadiene rubber enterprises, waste gas treatment unit mainly conta in volatile organic compounds such as styrene and butadiene device, due to the constructio n of an earlier era, exhaust gas treatment unit has no treatment facilities, but through th e exhaust pipe is directly discharged into the atmosphere.Based on the above background, the exhaust emission characteristics of styrene b utadiene rubber, choice of regenerative catalytic treatment of styrene butadiene rubber as the process of tail gascombustion method, the specific process design, selection and desig n of rotating airfoil sensors and other equipment, and built a regenerative catalyzed oxida tion combustion system. The actual operation of the system, the research of reaction temp erature, gas velocity, gas inlet, inlet and outlet temperature of reactor on the catalytic reac tion process, the optimal operation parameters. Aftercatalytic oxidation treatment of organi c waste gas after combustion, and ultimately achieve the removal efficiency was more th an 95%, non methane hydrocarbons is less than 4.0mg/m3, styreneemission is less than 26kg/h, the gas after treatment with "integrated emission standard of air pollutants" (GB1 6297-1996), "odor pollutants discharge standard" (GB14554-93) standard.
