Single crystal sapphire is widely used in many fields, such as photoelectron 、 national defense 、 aerospace etc., because of its excellent properties like outstanding chemical stability、good optical performance、high hardness 、 strong resistance to wear 、 high melting point etc. As science technology develops rapidly, sapphire is more and more widely used as time goes by. At present, there is higher requ irement in each field for processing efficiency and finished product surface quality of sapphire crystal. In order to meet the market demand for sapphire application, this paper conducted experimental research on the main process technic of sapphire slicin g band sawing machine and rational choice、adjust for experiment parameters, programming to predict processing conditions in the end, so as to achieve the purpose of improving sapphire processing quality and efficiency 、improving enterprise comprehensive benefits and provide scientific basis and technical support for sapphire slicing of high efficiency and high quality.The specific research contents of this paper is like below shows:1. Research on the cutting mechanism of diamond band sawResearch the material removal process during sapphire sl ice band sawing machine cutting processing and build tool model of sapphire slice band sawing machine. In combination with theoretic analysis and data derivation, the criticalbrittle-plastic transition pressing depth dc of hard brittle material like sapphire was obtained as well as the critical cutting depth formula ofm aterial brittleness /plastic removaltransition during diamond band saw cutting processing.2. Conduct experimental research on slicing process parameter setting of sapphire slice band sawing machineRegarding work piece feedspeed、linear cutting velocity of diamond band saw and work piece rotation speed as consideration factors, regarding sapphire as objective material, processing parameters were orthogonally optimized by conducting orthogonal test. And the best processing parameters were derived by analysis to optimization result. By using range analysis method, the influence that each processing parameter has on objective quality properties was derived, such as influence on the processing time of one single sapphire pay great、side damage quantity 、 band saw life 、 poor surface height etc., guidingprocess parameter value selection.3.Conduct fuzzy orthogonal experimental research on optimization to sapphire slicing process parameterConduct analysis study on the experimental data of orthogonal test using fuzzy theory in order to determine: to what extent do some pending process parameters have influence on processing result and optimize them accordingly. At last, an instructive and high quality theory of sap phire slicing process was summarized.4. Conduct experiment situation verification and process prediction research based on neural networkBuild BP neural network by collecting slicing process parameter and the corresponding evaluation factor value; build input-output prediction window for process parameter input and evaluation factor value output. Predict process evaluation factor value by inputting process parameter factor value. Simultaneously, the accuracy of prediction program was further improved by training neural network and adjusting the number of neurons, providing scientific basis and technical support for sapphire slicing of high quality and high efficiency as well as instruction to actual enterprise production.
