With the innovation of science and technology and the rapid development of the society, the chemical industry, which takes the petroleum as raw material, has a large proportion in the whole chemical industry and plays an important role in the national economy.The development of new energy resources is the key to the development of the society in the future.The development of biomass energy has become an important research area of green chemical industry.At the present stage,the domestic and foreign actively explore the use of corn to replace the oil production of biomasschemical alco--hol and a variety of chemical materials.The use of corn industry to replace petrochem-ical industry has broad prospects.Using corn instead of oil asraw material to produce chemical alcohol, not only can reduce production costs, but also the use of renewable resources to produce chemical products, which can effectively solve the energy crisis and improve the ecological environment.China as a large agricultural country, rich in corn resources, the development of corn production chemical industry has more advan-tages.This paper studies the Process Separation of ethylene glycol and 1,2-Pentanediol from fermentation broth of corn. Explore the rational economic separation process.The technical problems in this paper are that: For the complex material of corn fermentation treatment, through a large number of experiments to explore the treatment of fermentation, Select the appropriate azeotropic agent and provides a simple production process, low production cost, can be used for separation of a mixture of industrial continuous production separation of ethylene glycol and1,2-Pentanediol Belonging to the field of separation engineering in Chemical Engineering.In this paper, the raw material is derived from the corn fermentation treatment liquid, which is rich in ethylene glycol, 1,2-Pentanediol, but the boiling point of ethylene glycol and1,2-Pentanediol two is very close, it is difficult to use conventional methods to separate them. So the research of the method of boiling distillation to separate. For of azeotropic distillation tower reflux and operating pressure, to a large extent affect gas-liquid phase distribution and top of the tower, tower bottom components concentration changes. The ideal separation effect can be obtained by adjusting the reflux ratio and the pressure of the tower. Homogeneous boiling distillation equipment is simple, can be a single column separation of multicomponent mixture, universal, can be flexible to adjust the reflux ratio, there is a lot of flexibility and other advantages.In this paper, two methods are adopted to study the separation process. One is using homogeneous azeotropic distillation method, the separation of ethylene glycol and 1,2-Pentanediol in liquid fermentation of corn processing.The method using azeotropic distillation, using OTA as coboiling agent and OD as extraction agent,sothat ethylene glycol and 1, 2-Pentanediol are isolated. Through repeated experiments to explore the determination of the co boiling distillation and extraction conditions.The process operation conditions of the method: the number of column plates is 35,the pressure is 0.08 MPa, the reflux ratio is 20-30. The mixture of ethylene glycol and co boiling agent was obtained from the mixture of the mixed alcohol and the co-boiling agent, and the proportion of the mixture of ethylene glycol and the coboiling agent was 1:4.The tower reactor was 99.5% 1,2-Pentanediol. The extraction agent does not dissolve in the co boiling agent but can be dissolved with ethylene glycol, the mixed liquid extraction agent and ethylene glycol can be isolated by conventional distillation method, ethylene glycol content reached 99.5%.And recycling the use of a total boiling agent and extraction agent. The method is simple in operation and can obtain high purity of ethylene glycol and 1,2-Pentanediol.Another method is to use using azeotropic distillation, using MTO as coboiling agent and OD as extraction agent,so that ethylene glycol and 1,2-Pentanediol are isolated. Through repeated experiments to explore the determination of the co boiling distillation and extraction conditions. The process operation conditions of the method:the number of column plates is 32, the pressure is 0.085 MPa, the reflux ratio is 25-35.The mixture of ethylene glycol and co boiling agent is collected from the top of the tower, and the boiling ratio is 1:1, which improves the separation efficiency. The separation cost is reduced, and the economic benefit is improved. 1,2-Pentanediol was produced from the bottom of the tower. The extraction agent does not dissolve in the coboiling agent but can be dissolved with ethylene glycol, the separation of the total boiling matter can be realized by using the extraction agent extraction and simple filtering operation. Filter cake as a co boiling agent, after the end of the drying to get the total boiling agent of the purity of 99.5%. The filtrate is a mixture of the extract and the glycol. The qualified products of ethylene glycol are separated by common distillation column, and the purity of the product is more than 98%, the extraction agent can be recovered and used. The separation effect of the method is good, and it can reach the requirement of industrial production.
