We have explored the adsorption performance for a series of porous coordination polymer based on multi-carboxylate ligands and N-donor heterocyclic ligand. The ligands and metal ions coordinated by self-assemble under hydrothermal or solvothermal experimental methods mainly during the experiment process. In the article, we have synthesized five coordination polymers and for all coordination polymers we also have made analysis and testing such as Powder X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Thermo-gravimetric Analysis (TGA), fluorescence spectroscopy (FL), UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Scanning electron microscope analysis (SEM) and high transmission electron microscopy analysis (TEM). In addition, we have explored their performance for adsorption. Details are as follows:(1) Using trimesic acid and rare earth metal salt Tb(NO3)3·6H2O, we have obtained a coordination polymer by self-assembly. We construct the composite system with Fe(Ⅱ) spin crossover compounds and luminescent materials. We have performed test for spin conversion, and its emission characteristics were also explored.(2) Using different carboxylate ligands, nitrogen-containing ligands triangle (TIB) and Zn(NO3)2 · 6H2O, we have obtained a series of Zn-MOF (Zn-MOF-1, Zn-MOF-2 and Zn-MOF-3). In this series of complexes, Zn-MOF-1 can be selectively adsorbed Congo red (CR) from the mixed organic dye aqueous because of its unique macro-porous structure. According to the relevant literature review, it will be the first research of MOFs with large holes for selective adsorption in aqueous solutions to Congo red (CR). Besides, Zn-MOF-1 can also be recycled, we can continue after five times adsorption and desorption process.(3) Using carboxylate ligand contained four acid, N-donor ligand (bpe) and Zn(NO3)2·6H2O, we have obtained a new Zn-MOF (Zn-MOF-4) with porous by solvothermal. It is worth mentioning is that it can absorb methyl orange (MO) efficiently and can also be highly selective adsorption to methyl orange (MO) in the mixed organic dye aqueous.
