Microwave radiation technology is widely used in various fields。It can speed up the chemical reaction rate, change the reaction process, and realize the reaction which can not be carried out by some conventional methods。In the synthesis of alkyl gallate in microwave heating has the characteristics of fast reaction speed, simple operation, less by-products, high purity, clean and energy saving.Alkyl acid alkyl ester is a very important kind of gallic acid derivatives. The molecular structure, show a lively reduction, easy to be oxidized,1 position carboxyl group and fatty alcohol ester bond, increase the lipid solubility of the molecule,The longer alkyl chain, more lipid soluble.Gallic acid alkyl esters of molecular structure, the good fat soluble and antioxidant properties, so that it has a very wide range of applications in the field of food, medicine, light industry, chemical industry, there are good prospects for development. As a result, more and more people begin to pay attention to the synthesis of the ester compound and the performance of the product. In this paper, gallic acid and N octanol, is amylalcohol as raw material, p-toluene sulfonic acid(PTSA) as catalyst, microwave assisted synthesized octyl gallate, gallic acid amyl ester. The influence of catalyst p-toluene sulfonic acid(PTSA) was investigated the influence of dosage, molar ratio of alcohol to acid, reaction temperature, reaction time on the yield of microwave radiation. The results of the experiment were optimized using orthogonal test method, the final product under microwave conditions the optimal process conditions, ultimate yield respectively as. 0.03 mol gallic acid for 60 min of toluene sulfonic acid 0.9 g, reaction time and reaction temperature 131 DEGC, is octyl alcohol and gallic acid molar ratio of 13:1 conditions, gallic acid is the final yield of octyl reached 89.26%,0.05 mol acid, acid molar ratio of 13:1, P- toluene sulfonic acid 1.20 g, reaction time 30 min, reaction temperature of 131 degrees Celsius, the final yield of the acid is 90.23%.In this paper, the dynamics of oil bath and microwave radiation two heating synthesis of n-octyl gallate was studied and discussed. The existence of "non thermal effect" has been proved by the reaction kinetics. It is pointed out that the microwave radiation can promote the esterification reaction, and it is the result of the "thermal effect" and "non thermal effect".
