With the advancement and development of industrial technology, The industrial age is coming from industrial 3,the electronic and information technology systems,to the age of the industrial 4,Information System. As the core processing mode of industrial production, Stamping has entered into the era of fully automatic stamping production. A lot of sheet, pipe and other profiles are made by stamping, which including 60%-70% of world steel production. Blanking is the most common processing technology in the stamping process. With the increase of stamping productivity, the quality inspection of blanking parts is also increasing difficulty, and how to detect the quality of blanking section is one of the most important and difficult question. At present, the quality inspection technology of detect the quality of blanking section has not reached the level of automation of industry 3. Still use manual test method, which detect the quality by micrometer and so on. This method not only has a very slow detection speed, but also the accuracy of the detection is affected by many factors. Such as human subjectivity and some other uncertain factors. So this method is not in line with the current situation of the development of industrial production.In recent years, product detection technology based on machine vision was developing very quickly, because it has a lot of advantages include high efficiency, high reliability and low cost and so on. Therefore, use machine vision technology to the quality inspection of products in China is the research and development direction in the future. In this paper, we will research on how to detect the section quality by machine vision technology, and design and develop a machine vision based inspection system for blanking section quality on NI LabVBEW image processing platform. Finally, solved the problem of the detection of the blanking section. The main research contents of his paper as follows.1. In order to be more directly to judge the quality of blanking section. In this paper, we combined with the inspection requirements of the blanking section quality, the quality inspection standard for the blanking section had been established, the information of the result and the standard are corresponding to each other. So we can compare the results with standard requirements to determine the quality of the blanking section is qualified or not.2. In order to collect the high quality image to section detect, this paper analysis the requirements of section quality inspection, the image hardware collect system for quality inspection system of blanking section had been built. According to the requirements, select the suitable CMOS industrial camera, Ricoh industrial lens and the strip-shaped LED light source and so on. Establish hardware platform finally.3. In this paper, we proposed a quality detection algorithm based on edge feature extraction. A multi-scale and multi elements structure morphological edge detection algorithm is proposed and used to extract the edge of blanking section. Binary processing of edge image extract before. Finally, the edge measurement points are obtained by means of uniform distribution detection line, calculated blanking section correlation characteristic value, and comparison with standard values, according to the results of the comparison to determine the quality of the section is qualified or not.4. In this paper, we also proposed another quality detection algorithm based on image matching. Based on wavelet transform and normalized correlation method we can archive image matching rapidly. Determine the quality of blanking section by limit similarity between matching image and template image.5. In order to realize the section quality detection algorithm, combined with me current situation of the development of image processing algorithms in machine vision. Choose NI LabVIEW as the software development platform, realize the section detection algorithm based on NI Vision and Matlab function library.6. In order to realize the normal operation of the blanking section quality inspection system. The blanking section quality inspection system had been developed based on NI LabVIEW in this paper. This system can achieve image acquisition, image processing, display and save detection result. Finally, The practicability, stability and reliability of the system are verified by an example.
