The emission factors, emission inventory and the particulate matter (PM) source profiles of Heavy Duty Diesel Passenger cars、Medium-sized Diesel Passenger cars and Light Duty Passenger cars in Chengdu were studies in this thesis. First, this study collected the survey data of ownerships of vehicles in Chengdu; second, the variation of ownerships of Diesel cars were analyzed and predicted; then, the driving cycle and emissions of Diesel vehicles were tested in the using of ECOSTAR. Meanwhile, this study obtained the emission factors of Diesel vehicles from real test data and model simulation, and developed the related emission inventory; In the same time, the components of particulate from diesel vehicles were analyzed, and developed the source profiles.According to the statistics in 2012, the light-duty diesel trucks, heavy-duty diesel trucks, light-duty diesel passenger cars and heavy duty diesel passenger cars were the main vehicle types of diesel cars in Chengdu, with a contribution of 55.87%,26.01%,10.08% and 7.07%, respectively. The National III were the main types of Diesel vehicles in Chengdu accounting for about 73.89%.For the pollutant emissions of diesel trucks, the light-duty trucks discharge more CO2, NOx, SO2 than the heavy -duty trucks. In contrast, heavy-duty trucks discharge more CO, PM, VOC, NH3 than the light-duty trucks. The mean mass concentration of PM from light-duty diesel vehicles and heavy-duty diesel vehicles were 11665.1 ug/m3 and 42595.6 ug/m3, respectively. Total carbon were the main components for the above two types of vehicles, with a contribution of 83.89% and 97.27%. The anion were the major components of water-solubility ion, accounting for about 68.7% and 66.7% for the light-duty diesel vehicles and heavy-duty diesel vehicles. The distribution of anion for light-duty diesel vehicles was relatively uniform, while the NO3- was the main anion for heavy-duty diesel vehicles; For the cation, Ca2+ was the major ion for both of the light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles. Ni, Cr, Zn and Al were the main inorganic components for light-duty diesel vehicles, with a total contribution of 85.8%, while Al and Zn were the main inorganic components for heavy-duty diesel vehicles, accounting for about 83.5% totally.
