Welding is a kind of very common method for processing and manufacturing In industrial production,Welding quality will produce a great impact on the performance of the weld and the safety of the product,so we should cause enough attention to it. The requirement of welding quality of the product is more and more highly in the modern industrial production, so is the weld quality detection technology. Advanced testing technology is an essential condition to guarantee the quality of welding products, weld quality detection technology is developing to the automation and digitalization constantly. Automated testing can not only improve the production efficiency, and can improve the working environment of workers.This article through the analysis of the characteristics of weld surface defects, we use the weld line laser scan, get the basic information of the surface profile, based on the characteristics of the contour line, put forward the use of single contour fitting and outline the method of combination to or weld surface defects, based on the given method, using LabVIEW software has developed a set of on-line detection of weld surface defect detection system. Weld surface defect detection system is mainly composed of weld surface data acquisition program, data fitting analysis and display module. Data acquisition program is mainly to obtain the basic information of the weld surface profile online, data fitting analysis program is mainly aimed at weld contour features and different defects, using different mathematical methods, the display module is mainly online weld defects or as a result, including the location of the defect, type, size and other detailed information.This system can find the common weld defect of industrial weld appearance accurately, such as undercut lack of fusion, surface gas pore, overlap, angular distortion and so on, and can be able to determine the defect location, size information, etc. The accuracy of weld transverse and vertical can up to micron level, longitudinal 0.01 millimeters. The system relatively can solve the problem that the weld appearance defect based on artificial, with high efficiency, accuracy, objectivity and digital.
