This paper discusses the innovation of adopting largely the scraps of Pingxiang coal gangue and the cheap and poor Guangfeng black talc as the main materials, and the bauxite as secondary materials in the formula of sanitary ceramics embryo and the glaze, adopting orthogonal experiment and single factor experiment methods, which finally make into a kind of ceramic sanitary ware. This kind of ware processes low expansion coefficient,high intensity, and high rate of infrared emissivity, with the below technical index:(2.99~3.20) x10-6/℃ of expansion coefficient,0.9~0.96 rate of infrared emissivity, above 60Mpa of fracture resistance,1230-1270℃ temperature range of firing, and under 0.5% of absorption.Through XRD,IR and other conventional testing methods, analysis shows that cordierite being as the main crystallization phases of the ceramic body microstructure makes the low expansion coefficient and high infrared emissivity rate of the final ware; the infrared emissivity rate changes little with the changes of the amount of coal gangue and black tale during the firing temperature range, but changes correspondingly with the changes of temperature; the introduction of magnesite helps to lower down the expansion coefficient, but the amount should be limited within 3%;through the optimized testing of slurry deflocculation agent, it is better to adopt sodium humate with amount of 0.5%; the green strength reaches 2.45Mpa if 0.15% STPP and 0.15% of lignin sulfonate added, this made the green strength improved 206% than without fortifier.Adopting coal gangue and black talc as the main material in producing sanitary ceramics, the low coefficient of thermal expansion extends the service life and improve the use environment of this product. Also the high infrared emissivity is good for healthy. Research of sanitary ceramics with low expansion and high infrared emissivity do not ever existing before, and the largely adopting of scraps of coal gangue in the body and glaze inventing a new way of recycling, which has an positive meaning for environmental protection and resource utilization of industrial wastes.
