The container cargo transport volume increased sharply with the economic development rapidly,the goods of ocean trade mainly relay on freighter consignment containers,the phenomenon of "container rain" that occurred during ocean shipping has subject to more and more widespread concern.The main way to solve the "container rain" is to keep the dry environment in the container by the moisture absorption performance of the desiccant.Finding new desiccant to instead of the traditional desiccant has became the main task of scientific research workers for the traditional desiccant could not meet the requirements of current container desiccant as the primary way to prevent the container from the "container rain".This topic has been preparation a new composite desiccant which own the features of high water absorption efficiency,long water absorption time,color change after water absorption,nontoxic environmental-friendly,low cost and suitable for wide popularization and application.The way is to add the additive of calcium chloride,microcrystalline cellulose and neutral red to the attapulgite which is the main body of desiccant based on a certain proportion.Results of the experiment showed that the acidated attapulgite release moreadsorption sites and has stronger adsorption ability.The optimal mass ratio of composite desiccant materials is acidated attapulgite:calcium chloride:microcrystalline cellulose equal to 5:3:3.By adding the neutral red of the color changing agent,the color of the desiccant changed obviously after absorbing water. Experimentally determined the surface color of composite desiccant changed from yellow to red after add the color-changing agent of neutral red with the mass fraction of 1/100.Granulatiion and the strenth of particles after granulatiion is an important index to influence the performance of the desiccant.From the granulation experiment it is known that water glass with a mass fraction of 4% to mixed with the desiccant material is needed to enhance the particle strength of composite desiccant after water absorption.The composite desiccant particles shows the best water absorption property and particle strength can meet the requirements of the use of desiccant after water absorption on the conditions of particle diameter is 2mm and drying temperature is 200℃.The characterization of the composite desiccant shows that the adsorption isothem of the composite desiccant is of class Ⅲ,and own the highest fitting degree of the BET adsorption equilibrium equation,which is belong to the multi molecular layer adsorption.
