Carbon is an essential nutrient for plants, and is located in the first of 6 major elements. By seed soaking experiment, this thesis discussed on the nutritive values of C2-C4 organic acid, organic acid salt and alcohol on corn, peas, wheat seeds and seedlings. Results showed that the organic acid, acid salt and alcohol can be instead of amino acids as seed nutritional regulator. Also, the formula preparation methods, technical indexes and application method of a seed soaking agent was provided.Single glycine, acetate, propionate, butyrate, ethanol, propanol and butanol solution were used to soak the seeds of corn, green pea and wheat, respectively. And the effects of seed priming on seed germination and seedling development were investigated. Results showed that the best treatment effect of sodium acetate solution for corn seeds was 20 mg/L, while that of alcohol solution for pea seeds and propionic acid sodium solution for Wheat seeds were 10 mg/L and 40 mg/L, respectively. The seeds were soaked with a mixed solution including 3000mg/L Glycine, 3000mg/L sodium acetate,4000mg/L propionic acid sodium,5000mg/L butyric acid sodium, 1000mg/L ethanol, 1000mg/L propanol and1000mg/L butanol. Results showed that treatment effect of soaking liquid diluted 600 times for corn Seeds was optimum, while that of soaking liquid diluted 800 times for pea and wheat seeds was better. After conducting the orthogonal experiments and analyzing with the grey relation method, the optimum seed soaking liquid formula and preparation method were obtained. Firstly, a mixed solution of 0.5g Sodium acetate, 1g sodium propionate, lg butyrate,0.25g ethanol,0.25g propanol,0.25g butanol was prepared. Secondly, sodium hydroxide and sulfuric acid solution were used to adjust the pH value, and the mixed solution was stirred for 0.5-1 hours at room temperature. Finally, the mixed solution was diluted with water to 50 mL, and the original solution for soaking seed was obtained. After being diluted with water for 1000 times, the solution containing 10mg/L sodium acetate,20mg/L sodium propionate,20mg/L sodium butyrate,5mg/L ethanol, 5mg/L propanol and 5mg/L butanol.Technical indicators of the organic carbon nutrition for seed soaking agent were that effective carbon content was not less than28g/L, water-insoluble content was not more than50g/L, the pH of 1:250-fold diluted solution is 5.0-9.5.
