In order to ensure the safety in production inside the mine, the large drainage pump must used to drain off the water accumulated in the process of mining promptly and reliably. As the power source of the drain pump system, the temperature rise of pump motor has important impact to the service life and reliability of whole drainage pump system, so it has great significance to analysis the temperature field of the pump motor.Aim at the 2800KW water-cooled axial water pump motor, the motor temperature field is analyzed in this paper. The main work is as follows:1. On the basis of heat transfer theory, the calculation method of temperature field is introduced, especially the main method of numerical calculation of temperature-field variation.2. Based on the closed slot and double water cooling structure of water pump motor’s stator and rotor the heat source (loss) of the pump motor is calculated, the thermal conductivity of the various components of the pump motor as well as the heat transfer coefficient in every radiating surface are calculated.3. According to the symmetry feature of the pump motor, the simplified 2D model is established with Ansoft Maxwell, and the model is imported into the finite element analysis software ANSYS Workbench. On the basis of the heat transfer theory and fluid mechanics, according to the calculation of the motor loss, heat dissipation coefficient, thermal conductivity coefficient under different conditions, the steady-state temperature field of the water pump motor is analyzed, so the temperature distribution of the radial calculation field of pump motor is obtained. Using the FLUENT module of ANSYS Workbench, the 3D steady state temperature field of the simplified 3D model of the rotor is analyzed, so the axial temperature distribution of pump motor is obtained also.
