Research On The Overall Design Of Workplace And Office Furniture Based On The Thought Of Urban Design

By introducing the theory of urban design, the integral design of workplace and furniture was studied in the paper. Based on the characteristics of the workplace and office furniture, the relevance of urban space and workplace were set up as a starting point, the interoperability of urban space and workplace in theoretical relations, component elements, expression forms and design methods were expounded, and the demands that office furniture should meet to integrate into the workplace were analyzed, then design methods of workplace in an urban design way, the principles and methods of office furniture design and arrangement were innovatively proposed to rebuild the overall design system of workplace and office furniture. The main conclusions are as follows:1) The design mode of workplace in a urban space design way is mimesis of the urban space after integrating urban elements directly. We consider from the urban spatial elements to imitate the structure, and then on the basis of the integration of structural elements to shape the spirit of place and space atmosphere. This design modes to be expressed through the application of graph, the borrowing of street and square prototype, and the narrative design of workplace.2) The design of workplace uses the city streets (lively and vital traffic space), city nodes (easy and open leisure space), urban areas (various forms of work space), the symbol of the city (a high recognition of spatial elements), city boundary (creative wall) to show the urban image in urban landscape and visual form.3) As to the overall design of office furniture in the workplace, furniture design and furniture arrangement should be payed attention to. Through a modular method of furniture design and considering the scale and layout of furniture arrangement, office furniture can be integrated into the workplace.4) The concept of "City of design" is introduced into the overall design practice of the workplace and the furniture, which verifies the feasibility of this design system.
