Cd (II) ion was one of the five highly toxic heavy metals. It not only hurt the kidney of body and cause renal failure but also soften human skeleton after it was absorbed by body. Ion imprinting technology has broad prospects in the filed of process and detect heavy metal pollution. Ion imprinted polymer which prepared by ion imprinting technique could selective adsorption of heavy metal ions Cd (II) from numbers of interfering ions and achieved the purpose of removal of Cd (II).In this paper, Author used silica gel as support, Cd (II) as template, y-ureido propyl trimethoxy silane (UPTS) as coupling agent and functional monomer, epichlorohydrin (ECH) as crosslinking agent to synthesize Cd-UPTS/silicone-ⅡP by sol-gel method. The reaction temperature, y-ureido propyl trimethoxy silane dosage, silica gel dosage, epichlorohydrin dosage which were the factors of synthesis of Cd-UPTS/silicone-IIP were studied. The results showed that the optimum imprinted graft ratio of Cd-UPTS/silicone-IIP was about 26% when the mass of CdCl2.2.5H2O was 1.8g, the amount of UPTS was 4.5g, the amount of silica gel was 6g, ECH volume was 3.5ml, the reaction temperature was 333K.The Cd-UPTS/silicone-IIP imprinted materials and Cd-UPTS/silicone-NIP non-imprinted materials which were synthesized under optimal conditions were characterized by infrared spectroscopy. The infrared spectroscopy showed that the y-ureido propyl trimethoxy silane was successful grafted on the silica gel surface and the amino groups involved in the ligand reaction. The imprinted materials and non-imprinted material which were synthesized under optimal conditions were characterized by differential thermal analysis and thermal gravimetric analysis. The results showed that imprinted material has strong stability at room temperature to maintain its normal physical and chemical properties which could be normally used, and once again proved that its grafting rate was around 26%.The Cd-UPTS/silicone-IIP which was synthesized under the differnet conditions were chosen to study its adsorption property o It was used to treat of 100mg/L Cd (II) ions solutions. The results showed that the optimum adsorption capacity of the Cd-UPTS/silicone-IIP was about 13.41 mg/g when the Synthesis conditions were that the amount of UPTS was 4.5g, the amount of silica gel was 6g, ECH volume was 3.5ml, the reaction temperature was 333K. The Conclusion was consistent with the imprinted material grafting ratio.
