Continuous flow centrifugation, tangential flow ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis were used to isolate a large amount of suspended particulate matter(>0.45μm), colloidal matter(5000D-0.45μm, 1 nm-0.45μm)in the reservoir, river and estuary of the Pearl River Basin, heavy metals were determined by inductively coupled plasma/mass spectrometry(ICP-MS). When the content and the concentration of particulate metals in the three different kinds of water were compared, it was found that the content(μg/g) and the concentration(ng/L) were higher in summerthan other seasons; in estuarine water, Zn and As have a same seasonal trend with the salinity of water. Due to the impact of precipitation, KP/C[concentration of heavy metal in partical phase/concentration of heavy metal in colloidal phase] are used to research the distribution ofheavy metals in different phases. The results show that metals mainly exit in small molecule colloidal in colloidal phase. For Mn, Pb, Cr, As, Cd, and other toxic heavy metal elements, Pb and Cd mainly exist in the particle phase, migrating in the water body with particles, in addition to the eutrophication LHH, Asis mainly exists in the colloidal phase.Particulate matter, colloidal matter was isolated from Lian’an reservoir(LA), Liuhuahu Park(LHH) and Lianhuashan river(LHS), collected Sediment samples from LA for investigating fatty acids in particles and colloids in different water. Results showed that Aerobic bacteria and anaerobic bacteria have an advantage in the structure of microbial community in different water bodies. The bacteria are related with the primary productivity of the water body. The aerobic bacteria may have an important influence on the accumulation of Mg, Zn and Cd in the particle phase in LA. Anaerobic bacteria may have an important effect on the accumulation of Mg, Fe, Co, Zn, Cd, Pb in the particles in the LHH. In LHS, anaerobic bacteria may have an important effect on the accumulation of Al, Zn, Mn and Cu, and aerobic bacteria may have an important influence on the accumulation of Pb in the particulate matter.
