When the output of major oil fields enters the decaying stage, acidification or fracturing is generally adopted as an important reservoir stimulation measure to increase production. Still there is a relatively new measure called acid fracturing. With a wide range and a high degree of technological maturity, this technique was applied earlier in the carbonate rock reservoir. For the sandstone reservoir, however, acid fracturing had rarely been seen. Only in recent years, some oil fields have tried this technology in sandstone reservoir and achieved success. This paper aims at the transformation difficulties in achieving reservoir production increase through acid fracturing in sandstone reservoir, using mathematical model and laboratory experiments to do the research. Studying details are as the following:1.This paper introduces the theory, technology, construction requirements, as well as the history and current development of the variety of fracturing;2.Based on the study of carbonate acid fracturing, this paper combined the reaction mechanism of acid rock to analyze the reaction process of sandstone with different acid fluid and the possible precipitant through a series of experiments, so to demonstrate the impediment in sandstone acid fracturing and imperative conditions to achieve such success;3.This paper also introduces the acid fluid system, and analyzes the formula standard of acid fluid and method to prevent precipitant in the sandstone acid fracturing process. There is experiment analysis on different formula so as to select the best to carry out;4.A mathematical model is established to solve the acid concentration in gaps, as well as to further study the effective acid pressure distance;5.This paper comprehensively analyzes the way to obtain the effective acid-corrosion fracture conductivity, with the preliminary results of basic elements and principles required by sandstone acid fracturing;6.Combined with the actual successful cases of acid fracturing, the possibility of acid fracturing in sandstone reservoir is shown here, which provides a new way to increase the production of sandstone reservoirs.
