The Study Of Eco-city’s Development In Danjiangkou

As the world’s urbanization is highly increasing, the destruction of human activities on the environment have become more and more serious, so it is particularly important to build the balance between city and the natural. The concept of eco-city brings people a new lease of life. The origin of eco-city was very earlier, not until the late 20th century to flourish in urban planning. Though there is no widely accepted definition for "eco-city",the term of eco-city has been more and more accepted by experts and government officials, and they are trying to convert it into an elementary principles of city construction, production and consumption being.Danjiang kou City, located in the northwest of Hubei Province, middle and upper branches of Han jiang river, known as "China’s water capital". Danjiangkou city is an important part of Qinba biological diversity of key ecological function areas, and the important water conservation area of North Water Transfer Project, the natural and artificial of environment in the city is still very vulnerable With the limited economic development, its social developments needs to be improved as well. This paper is based on analysis of the current situation with a thorough review on the theoretical and practical study of eco-city both in China and abroad. First, the purpose of domestic and foreign eco-city construction were studied. Next, considering the ecological status in Danjiangkou city’s construction, we established evaluation index system and selected the indicators based on the principles of scientificity, rationality, and specialty, practicality In this paper, considering the accessible of data in Danjiangkou City, we finally chose three first grade indicators, eight second grade indicators,30 third grade indicators to describe Ecological Evaluation Index System of Danjiangkou City.Finally, according to the current development situation, we calculated its scores and weights for index qualitative and quantitative analysis, and put forward the main countermeasures in Danjiangkou City for the construction of ecological city. In general, Danjiangkou city should aim to ensure ecological security in the future development, improve the natural environment, promote economic according to the local conditions and resources in the environment-friendly industries,, in order to achieve the city’s environmental, economic, social and ecological sustainable development. From the environmental perspective, we should strengthen the construction of the natural environment and artificial environment, especially in preserving forests, water resources, land resources, and furtherance of air pollution control, waste disposal sewage treatment policy, and civil infrastructure construction upgrade. From the Economic perspective, industries need structural adjustment, with a focus on coordination of first, secondary and tertiary industries. There is a need to greatly promote clean production, and increase productivity. From the social perspective, we must pay attention to the layout of urban and rural infrastructure, to strengthen the integration of urban and rural construction. This will reduce income disparities, increase population quality, enhance social construction, promote green travel and lifestyle, energy-saving products and technologies, build energy efficient buildings, and increase the proportion of using new energy sources.
