The buried pipelines with oil and gas are mostly steel pipeline, the media leakage accident will be caused due to corrosion, aging or suffered damage. Besides regular inspection according to human experience, it also needs real-time online inspection, positioning and repairing timely to ensure the safe operation of the buried pipeline, when the buried oil and gas pipelines are in the process of operation. Considering to the flexibility and unrestrained to environmental constraints of robot, it is a fast and effective way that the pipeline inspection robot carry a detection device into the pipeline to complete real-time online detection, but the pipeline defect detection technology and equipment that can be carried into the pipeline by robot and support the use of robot is still very limited at present.Consult and master a large number of related documents and information about pipeline non-destructive testing. Analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of various detection methods and their applicability, through the comprehensive analysis, determining the more appropriate mobile detection method combined with pipeline robot. Through the ANSYS simulation analysis, verified the feasibility of eddy current heating combined with infrared thermal imaging detection technology, discuss the current frequency, current density, lift of height on the surface plate heating effect, it provides the gist for choose the heating parameters of the eddy current heating device. Design the eddy current heating device, preparing for the test of infrared thermal imaging technology. In the part of test, introduce the auxiliary equipment required for testing, discuss the current frequency, current density and the lift off height for effect of heating plate, design the defect types, size of plate required for testing, and eddy current heating and thermal image of each specimen were collected respectively. In the part of image processing, analyze the thermal images on the defect type, size, location and depth by using image processing technology. And when discuss the defect area, put forward a device of image alignment and a calibration method of defect size.With the continuous development of pipeline transportation industry, it will bring some security issues that have become increasingly prominent, nondestructive testing technology has more significance. On one hand, it can reduce accidents rate due to pipeline leakage, on the other hand, it also can extend the pipeline service time, and bring certain economic benefits.
