With the increasing depth of the underground rock engineering, highland stress, high permeability pressed, ground temperature and harsh environment of strong mining disturbances of the deep rock lead to roof failure occurs mining, spalling and other phenomena increased significantly, and even rock burst isokinetic pressed disaster. The rock brittle fracture problems for workers’ safety and construction equipment, the stability of rock engineering caused great threat, it attracts rock mechanics experts from around the world to carry out rock burst system. Rock mechanics experiments on rock mechanics properties is the most basic and most important measure, domestic and foreign workers use single, triaxial compression test to carry out extensive the characteristics of destruction and different rock mechanical properties by rock mechanics laboratory tests, and through a variety of advanced monitoring tools to understand the interior of the rock damage process.In this paper, for the rock brittle failure phenomenon occurring frequently in rock engineering,in order to study the effection of different measures for preventing the rock brittle failure. author finished the following works:(1) The rock single, triaxial compression test, and in order to contrast, but the class of rock material (mortar, gypsum, etc.) compression test, to carry out under different experimental conditions rock mechanical properties, especially the changes in the characteristics of the mechanical behavior after the peak, revealed brittle failur characteristics and influencing factors of different rocks from the macro (the phenomenon of different rock failure process, such as sound, ejection and stress-strain curves);(2) The relation between strain fields and the failure form in the whole process of deformation and failure was studied by digital image correlation method;(3) According to the evaluation method for brittle failure of rock, the impact of different experimental conditions, such as confining pressure, moisture content of the sample breaking strength of brittle rock was analyzed quantitatively, and provide a theoretical basis for the rock brittle failure monitoring and early warning;(4) Based on the final test results to explore different measures of the rock brittle failure control effect. Through the assess and discuss, we got the applicable conditions of water softening method, strengthening support method and drilling unloading pressure method in the deep rock engineering.
