Artificial source of atmospheric parti culate matter are mainly from industry, how to control pollution from the source is an important thing. Based on the practical engineering, sludge bulk density, particle size, moisture content and kinds of sludge become the main factors in removing PM2.5, PM10, TSP. Besides, through scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electronic microscope we analyze the differences between experiment and practice. The result shows that, for four types of sludge, the removal rates of PM2.5, PM10, and TSP are in ranges of 18%-42%, 32%-55%, and 39%-62%, respectively. The removal ability of PM2.5 is associated with the physical and chemical properties of sludge itself, especially the organic content. It increases with the sludge packing density and moisture content but decreases with the sludge particulate size. Smaller sludge particulate size is believed to be favoring the formation of abundant water drops in flue-gas which in turn adsorb and combine the micro particles into larger particles. In the view of Scanning electron microscope and microscope, PM decreased dramatically after sludge adsorption, and large particles decrease obviously. In practical engineering, the particle removal capacity affected by sludge drying environment, three kinds of particle removal ability and experimental simulation is slightly different, mainly because, in the process of sludge drying particulate matter content is huge, which contribute to the PM grow bigger. It builds the new field in using the waste to treat waste, providing a solid scientific basis for study of sludge treatment and theoretical guidance.
