Based on the fundamental materials of Medium density fiberboard, finger jointed plate and solid wood, applied with the oily coating equipment and technology, water-based coatings was applied on the oily coating equipment. First of all, the film formation mechanism of the two kind of coating was studied. Secondly, it was studied the key technology of wet film thickness, the number of spraying and spray height. Thirdly, on the basis of single factor experiments and two factors orthogonal tests, film-forming key parameters and the production process for water-based coatings were studied comprehensively to obtain the best conditions of film, production parameters, process operation and different finishing technological process. Finally, it was tested the physical properties of the film of water-based coatings to achieve the national standards.This paper studied the best drying film-formation temperature, humidity, wet film thickness, coating spread and spray height, obtained the final experiment conclusion which was confirmed successfully. And it was tested the physical properties of the film of water-based coatings. Main research contents of the paper were as follows:(1) Through detected many different sets of wet film thickness at the scene, it was analyzed and concluded of the best optimization wet film thickness and spraying numbers of water-based paint. With the dry film thickness and film hardness of validation criteria, Through contrasted many groups of spraying dates, reaching the best numbers of spraying of closed-primer.. primer and paint. On the basis of single factor experiments of spraying height、angle and speed, with the spraying width of validation criteria. reaching the best numbers of spraying height、angle and speed.(2) On the basis of single factor experiments, and controlled the other conditions unchanged, made the the temperature as a single variable. It found that with the increased of temperature, the drying time of paint film was sharping decreasing, and slowed down at 40 ℃. It found that with the increased of humidity, the drying time of paint film was increased. On the basis of two factors orthogonal test, through cross-verify the best dry temperature and humidity of the ahead single factor tests, the test results proved the ahead results were correct.After verified the test parameters, then tested its physical properties. The test results found that its physical properties were better. Combined with the finishing equipment and production technology of the common furniture production enterprises, analyzed and designed the water-based paint.
