In this paper, sulfide-based and oxide-based catalyst were prepared by impregnation using an equal volume with precursors of ATTM(ammonium tetrathionate) and ammonium and cobalt nitrate as additives. The evaluation experiments of HDS activity were carried in the high-pressure micro-reactor with the reaction condition of pressure: 2MPa, temperature:280℃, LHSV: 4h-1. The catalysts were characterized by BET, XRD, XRF and HRTEM before and after the catalyst reaction. The results showed that the active component dispersed well on the carrier of sulfide--based catalyst which mostly MoS2 accumulation of short-stacked layers, and the chip length is shorter, the active is more. BET analysis showed that compared with sulfide-based catalyst, the oxidation catalyst carrier pore blocking more. The impregnation order of the two catalysts is only slightly affected the HDS activity. The catalyst prepared by the method of co-impregnation show higher HDS activity than the one prepared by the method of step impregnation in the high concentrations of H2 S atmosphere. The catalysts prepared by co-impregnation had the highest HDS activity when in the high concentration of H2 S which showed that the catalyst prepared by co-impregnation had a better suppression on the adverse effects of H2 S on hydrodesulfurization reaction.
