In recent years, people have become more and more concerned about health and sports awareness has gradually increased. Fitness has become a part of the daily lives of most people,so the fitness equipment industry developed rapidly. But the fast pace of life and the deterioration of air quality have lead to the decrease of the time and space for people to take part in the sport. The electric treadmills are welcomed by people because of they have the advantages of saving space and the use is not affected by the environment, which promote the development of electric treadmills. The electric treadmill has become a kind of sports equipment that involves many subject theories and technologies and is developing towards the direction of multi-function, digitalization, intelligence and networking. The research and development of a new type of electric treadmill has an very important meaning for promoting the health of people and the market of fitness equipment.In this paper first studied the composition and operation principle of BLDCM(Brushless DC motor), neural network and PID control method, then established mathematical model and simulation model of BLDCM, and determined single closed-loop speed control method and PID control method based on BP neural network of the speed regulation of BLCDM. Then the principle of coordinate measurement and calibration of touch screen were discussed, and the coordinate position detection scheme that using auto position conversion mode and waiting for interrupt mode and three point calibration method were identified. At last the principle of finite state machine was studied and touch keys scheme was designed.Secondly, according to the control needs of electric treadmill, the hardware architecture was studied and designed, which was divided into main control board and function board. The main control board used S3C2440 as the main chip and included the audio circuit, touch screen interface, storage circuit, SD card interface and the interface connected with function board. The function board was researched and designed, which included speed motor drive module, lifting motor drive module and heart rate dectection module.Thirdly, the embedded real-time operating system μC/OS-II was selected as the target platform of poduct development and was transplant onto the main control board. According to the functions that the electiric treadmill need to realize, the software system was divided into tasks adhering to the rule of task assignment and the tasks were designed adhering to the rule of task design. Graphics library μC/GUI was transplanted onto the main control board and the simple man-machine interface was developed based on it.Finally, the whole system was debugged, and the test results shown that the electric treadmill control system could satisfy the design requirements. At the end of this article, some advices were given to improve the control system.
