Bentonite is a kind of raw mineral materials with rich resources and loe prices, the replacement between bentonite and part of plant fiber for corrugated paper can reduce the use of fiber raw material and the production cost of the paper. It was also a new way for the development of bentonite.This paper mainly studied the application of bentonite in corrugating medium, which include the fill of slurry, the sizing of surface, and the processing and analysis of PEI as the anion trapping agent in white water treatment. The fill of bentonite lead to the decrease of strength, and this can be solved by increase the beating degree, add the enhancer, and the pretreatment of bentonite. The retention and drainage of bentonite was also processed and analysised. The production cost of corrugating medium can be reduced by the repalcement of surface sizing agent with bentonite. Finally, the effect and virulence of PEI anion trash catcher was analysised.The results indicated that the hydration time of bentonite as the general corrugated paper filler is about 15 min, then added to the stock, the effective addition amount of bentonite is 20%, and this will makes the negative values of slurry increased 1.4 mV, paper tensile index decreased 15.86%, and ring crushindex decreased 9.8%. When the beating degree of pulp increased 10 oSR, the paper tensile index increased 54.79%, ring crush index increased 23.80%, which equivalent to the beating degree increase 3~5 oSR. And the strength loss can be remedied by adding 20% bentonite, as well as by adding a certain amount of reinforcing agent to increase paper strength.When the filler amount is 20%, bentonite retention(14.8%) is higher than calcium carbonate aftersurface modification pretreatment of bentonite with the maximum increase of 15.3%. Bentonite can improve the filling of corrugated paper retention when the optimal solution of CS dosage is 1.5%, CPAM dosage is 0.06%, and CP3 dosage is 0.06%. In comparision to the sample without retention aid, the retention rate of bentonite was 78.9%, which increased by 26.5%, and the filtration rate of slurry fastest was 21 s, the filtration rate increased by 190.54%.The surface modification effect of CS and CMC was better, and the surface modification effect of CPAM and polyurethane was common by using different reagents to modify the surface of bentonite; the cationic starch had the best effect when starch bentonite dosage is 1.6%, the tensile index increased by 15.04%,the ring crush index increased by 23.38%; when the carboxymethyl cellulose relative bentonite dosage is 3%, the tensile index increased by 11.18%,the ring crush index increase of 18.04 And surface modification to improve the retention of bentonite in the paper.With bentonite replace 30% oxidized starch on the surface ofthe corrugated paper sizing, in the pH value is about 5, when bentonite and oxidized starch concentration was 10%, glyoxal is 1.0% of the amount of starch, in reducing the amount of starch, compared with 100% starch surface sizing, ring crush index increased by 2.02%,tensile index increased 9.40%.The application of bentonite in corrugated paper can increase the amount of anionic trash, and PEI is effective in anion trash catching. However, the cytotoxicity of PEI is too high, and this can be soloved by the preparation of biodegradable PEI with poly asparagine derivatives as the backbone.
