Anaerobic sequencing batch reactor is a new and efficient reactor,which was important to the future development direction in biological wastewater processes. There are many advantages, such as simple process,easy to operate, small investment, easy to operate,low operating costs. But a long time is need for sludge granulation in anaerobic sequencing batch reactor and resulting in load is small, limiting the engineering applications. Therefore, how to train settling effect, high activity of granular sludge is the key to efficient operation of the anaerobic sequencing batch reactor in a short time,The experiment by adding different doses of powdered activated carbon is studying its effect on processing performance and granular sludge in ASBR.The test uses two parallel ASBR reactor(A and B) to simulate, the substrate is glucose, control the reaction temperature at 35 ℃, hydraulic retention time(HRT) of 24 h.Which were added 10 g / L(A) and 5g / L(B) powdered activated carbon to explore the treatment effect and the corresponding sludge performance. The results are as follows:(1)ASBR has better treatment effect. When the COD was 3000 mg / L,the load is 3 g COD /(L · d) though one hundred forty day,two reactors COD removal rate can reach more than 95% and stable operation, ASBR has a good effect on high concentration organic water treatment.(2)Powdered Activated Carbon can accelerate ASBR sludge granulation and the dosage is more, the sludge granulation accelerating effect is more obvious.When the dosage was 10 g / L, after ninety day operation, the sludge particle diameter is 50μm.When the dosage was 5g / L, which need more than one hundred day to achieve the same particle size.After one hundred and twenty day,dosage of 10 g / L reactor’s sludge particle size has reached more than 85μm,dosage of 5g / L reactor’s sludge particle size is only 69μm.(3)Powdered activated carbon can significantly improve the performance of sludge sedimentation and the higher dosage can cast, the effect of improving is more obvious.After ninety day operation,when the dosage was 10 g / L, settling velocity was 48%.when the dosage was 5g / L, settling velocity was 52%.After one hundred and twenty days operation,when the dosage was 10 g / L, settling velocity was 36%.when the dosage was 5g / L, settling velocity was 46%.Under the same conditions of the two reactors, the dosage of 10 g / L can achieve better effect settlement.After one hundred and twenty days operation,when the dosage was 10 g / L,mixed liquid suspended solids started to grow,when the dosage was 5g / L,mixed liquid suspended solids is a downward trend.(4)The granular sludge formed in ASBR were filamentous fungus and cocci.There are mainly cocci.The dosage of activated carbon power just change sludge traits and does not affect the bacteria within the particles.
