China has become the largest organic dye production and consumption country. However, the wastewater which is mainly produced and used organic dyes is an important aspect of environmental pollution. Hence, it is necessary to study on treatment organic dyes wastewater. Heterogeneous Fenton technology for treating organic dyes wastewater has become a hotspot in recent. Organic dyes contain cationic dyes and anionic dyes, rhodamine B, cationic red X-GRL and acid magenta are determined as the research object of this paper. Photo-Fenton heterogeneous oxidation systems which used as the photocatalysts to decolorize organic dyes under the visible light has been investigated, moreover, dynamic and mechanism of the decolorization reaction were studied. The research results can facilitate the treatment of wastewater polluted by cationic dyes or anionic dyes.First of all, Na-Y zeolites loaded Fe2+ and Ls-5000-type chelate resin loaded Fe2+ heterogeneous Fenton catalysts were prepared by impregnating. And then adsorption and photocatalytic oxidation ability of the two kinds of catalysts of the wastewater polluted by rhodamine B or cationic red X-GRL or acid magenta has been investigated. Experimental results showed that the two kinds of catalysts can adsorb rhodamine B, cationic red X-GRL and acid magenta to different degrees. And the solution of Fe2+-NaY zeolites or Fe2+-Ls-5000 chelate resin and H2O2, a kind of catalyzed oxidatio n system, has good prospects for development. Especially Fe2+-NaY zeolites can be reuse to avoid the secondary pollution of environment effectively.Next, Fe2+-NaY zeolites and Fe2+-Ls-5000 chelate resin catalysts were used to treat the wastewater polluted by rhodamine B or cationic red X-GRL or acid magenta. In single factor test, the influencing factor of decoloration rate was discussed, such as volumes of H2O2, catalyst dosages, power of incandescent, solution pH value and initial concentration of dye. The optimum reaction condition has been obtained to decolorize wastewater polluted by rhodamine B or cationic red X-GRL or acid magenta by orthogonal experiments on the basis of single factor experiment. The solution of Fe2+-NaY zeolites or Fe2+-Ls-5000 chelate resin and H2O2 under the visible light, a kind of catalyzed oxidation system, breaks chromophoric group of organic dyes significantly by compare with UV-visible absorption spectra before and after react of decoloration. Finally, the reaction mechanism was studied and the kinetic analysis was obtained. And the reaction mechanism contains adsorption and hydroxyl free radical oxidation.
