Hybrid materials with organic–inorganic character not only represent a new field of basic research, but also offer prospects for many new applications due to their remarkable new properties and multifunctional nature.In this paper, PVDF/titanium dioxide(TiO2) hybrid particles were prepared by sol-gel method and the silane coupling agent(MPS) was used to improve the phase interface. During the process of the PVDF/TiO2 hybrid particles, the feeding order of PVDF template, different acid as the hydrolysis catalyst of MPS and chelating agent of butyl titanate and other surface modification agent(SDS, SMAS), which influence the morphology of the hybrid particle, had been mainly studied. The composition and configuration the hybrid particle was also characterized by Fourier infrared spectrometer(FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction(XRD). The results show that: TiO2 particles existed on the PVDF surface and was amorphous; the adding order of PVDF particles had no effect on the morphology of the hybrid particle; by using acetic acid(HOAc) as the hydrolysis catalyst of MPS and chelating agent of butyl titanate, the system can generate strawberry- like PVDF/TiO2 hybrid particles; the addition of SMAS in the system was contributed to the formation of strawberry- like hybrid particles. Comparing the contact angles of a water droplet on the pure PVDF film and PVDF/TiO2 film, the results showed that the hydrophilicity of PVDF/TiO2 hybrid particles film was much higher than PVDF film.PVDF/polyaniline(PANI)/Au multiple hybrid particles were also prepared by aqueous suspension precipitation polymerization or water-oil interfacial polymerization or two-step precipitation polymerization based on the hydrogen bonding interactions between the PVDF and aniline and redox reaction between aniline and chloroauric acid(HAuC l4). The SEM results show that the morphology of hybrid particle was not easy to control by aqueous suspension precipitation polymerization or water-oil interfacial polymerization. For the two-step precipitation polymerization, firstly, the raspberry- like PVDF/PANI composite particles with controllable size and shape were prepared. Secondly, the PVDF/PANI composite particles were added into the gold colloid to adsorb gold particles to form PVDF/PANI/Au ternary hybrid particle. Although this method was relatively complicated, the amount of polyaniline and the size of gold particles were easy to control, which can be used to prepare tunable morphology of PVDF/PANI/Au ternary hybrid particles.
