Hot-working tool steel, is commonly exposed the severe operating conditions, which cause surface damages, including heat checks, erosion, and chemical attacks in prime locations. Laser cladding Nickel-based and Cobalt-based superalloy have been gradually used in mold manufacturing, because of their outstanding resistance against high-temperature oxidation, thermal fatigue, thermal corrosion, and abrasion, as well as their high strength.To co MPare and analyze the microstructure characteristics and mechanical properties of H13 steel in the as-cast, annealing state, quenched and tempered state specimens, detailed analysis of the effect to mechanical property anisotropy due to zonal segregation and intergranular carbides, and evaluated their level of organization and mechanical performance.Laser cladding of nickel-based and Co-based alloys powder were undertaken on the H13 tool steel components. By the microstructure analysis, hardness measurement, the i MPact toughness and bending testing, the microstructure characteristics of the cladding layer, dilution zone, heat affected zone and substrate were given, and strengthening and toughening mechanism of laser cladding material was discussed. Then studied the mechanism to improve mechanical properties for laser cladding Ni-based and cobalt-based alloy on the H13 steel,as well as the microstructure characteristic and the anisotropy of mechanical properties of the H13 steel surface laser cladding Co-based and Ni-based alloy were detailed discussed. Furthermore, explained the reason of the significant increase in the surface hardness, combined with the organization characteristics.To co MPare and analyze the difference between transverse and longitudinal i MPact toughness in annealing states of H13 steel,and the influence on i MPact resistance performance of H13 steel by laser cladding Ni-based and cobalt-based alloy. At the same time, the influence of different precast V groove position on the i MPact properties of the cladding mode sample was studied.By bending test, study the anisotropy of laser cladding high temperature alloy to the fracture toughness of H13 steel. Meanwhile, the differences in the mechanical properties of the cladding layer and the substrate material, as well as in the crack growth resistance of materials were explored, then the influence of which to H13 steel after the laser cladding was studied.The fracture morphology was detailed analyzed in the different states of H13 steel and laser cladding sample after the i MPact, bending test, and then its fracture mode, failure pattern and the source of crack, propagation path of crack were discussed, etc.
