Higher requirement for machining equipment was put forward since large hardened ring gear is an indispensable part of many large mechanical equipment.Spherical worm grinding wheel machine can process ring gear continuously and efficiently without division error compared with traditional machine.As foundation of the gear grinding machine bed is very important to its machining performance.Therefor the bed of spherical worm grinding wheel machine was research object and several bed structures were designed with bionic and unit structure method.The optimal dimensions of each alternative were obtained through multi-objective optimization.The best alternative was determined with TOPSIS method and the bed’s performance of spherical worm wheel grinding machine was improved.The main research contents are as follows:(1) Several bed structures were designed based on unit structure thoughts and bionic method.Their geometric models were established and the dynamic and static finite element analysis were conducted.(2) The parametric models of each alternative were built and sensitivity analysis were conducted respectively.the preliminary data was obtained for decision making through multi-objective optimization and finite element analysis.(3) Several problems of TOPSIS method were discussed,such as reverse problem and fuzzy evaluation index,and corresponding solutions were found so that this method is more convenient to solve the engineering problems.(4) The TOPSIS mathematical model of the bed was established and the computation program was written with MATLAB.The optimized design alternative was determined according to the calculation results.The validity of the preference results of the bed was verified compared with analysis result of the original bed.
