We designed and synthesized a series of chiral SPINOL phosphoric acid to catalyze the asymmetric F–C alkylation of 3-vinyl indoles with substituted indoles, which leaded to obtain 3,3’-bis(indolyl)methanes containing chiral quaternary carbon atom. After the optimization of the catalysts, catalysts’ loading, solvents, temperature, we managed to give structurally diverse objective products in high yields(up to 99 %), with excellent enantioselectivities(up to 96 % ee) involving most of the substituted 3-vinyl indoles and substituted indoles. This work provided a convinent and straightforward route to the synthesis of chiral.3,3’-bis(indolyl)methanes.
