Rare-earth and Magnesium iron doped 12 Ca O·7Al2O3(C12A7) was a broad applicated upconversion luminescence material. Preparing Ho3+, Yb3+, Tm3+, Mg2+ doped C12A7 with high temperature solid-state reaction method in this paper. With upconversion of the C12A7 sample show the doped of Magnesium iron have much effect on C12A7. In addition, this paper discuss the mechanism of upconversion.The raw materials are mixed, at 1200 ℃, sintering 6 hours, can get Ho3+, Tm3+, Yb3+ and Mg2+ doped polycrystalline C12A7. XRD tests show that the doped ion lattice is substituted into the lattice form, it does not change the crystal structure of C12A7. Raman spectroscopy showed that the doping Mg2+ ions can reduce the phonon energy of C12A7, upconversion luminescence can be better realized. UV-visible absorption spectra showed that doping Mg2+ ions in favor of upconversion luminescence were.Prepared by high temperature solid method, C12A7: Yb3+,Tm3+, Mg2+ series of samples send out blue light, and C12A7: Yb3+, Ho3+, Mg2+ series of samples send out green and red light. The study found that the blue emission is because of 1G4â†'3H6 transition of the electronics in Tm3+ ions, the green emission is because of 5F4/5S2â†'5I8 transition of the electronics in Ho3+ ions, the red emission is because of 5F5â†'5I8 transition of the electronics in Ho3+ ions. By orthogonal experiments prepared a series of hair white C12A7: Yb3+, Tm3+, Ho3+, Mg2+ series of samples found 12 Ca O·7Al2O3 doping 4 mol%Yb3+, 0.7 mol%Tm3+,0.5 mol%Ho3+ emitted bestly.Study on the conversion of the spectrum was found to achieve the strongest Whether on what color of light, Mg2+ iron doping will greatly enhance the conversion luminescence intensity, and the doping concentration of 6mol%, of the various colors of light this is true. Through the CIE color coordinates of CIE spectrum of the sample and the study found, Mg2+ dopant ions will not change the color of light and composition.
