A great amount of interest has been focused on polyurethane acrylate(PUA), which is a kind of important UV oligomer involved the excellent properties of polyurethane and acrylic ester, such as good adhesive, good flexibility, good wear resistance, good weather resistance, good chemical corrosion resistance.Nevertheless, PUA suffers from some drawbacks, for instance, slow curing rate, low hardness, hard to surface curing and poor mechanics properties, etc. To solve these problems, this study consider to alicyclic amine which has rigid structure, a kind of cyclic amine modified UV curable polyurethane acrylate with fast curing rate, high hardness, and rapid surface curing has been prepared by the synthesis method of nonisocyanate polyurethane.The main contents are as following:(1) Basing on the synthesis route of nonisocyanate polyurethane, two different of NIPU with a hydroxyl group at both ends have been prepared successfully by using isophorone diamine(IPDA), 4,4’-2 amino dicyclohexyl methane(PACM), and propylene carbonate(PC) as raw materias. The synthesis conditions of NIPU have been investigated in detail. Infrared and nuclear magnetic were utilized to characterize the structure of NIPU. The results show that the reaction can be carried out quickly without any catalyst at 120℃ for 8h as amine slightly excessive.(2) Synthesis kinetics of isophorone diamine(IPDA), 4,4’-2 amino dicyclohexyl methane(PACM), with propylene carbonate(PC) have been studied, the kinetics expressions are:201.24)1)(/10590.3exp(790.5 aa-′-= RTdtd982.14)1)(/10391.3exp(064.1 aa-′-= RTdtd(3) A series of alicyclic amine modified UV curable polyurethane acrylate were synthesized by using as-prepared NIPU as raw material. The samples were characterized by infrared, thermal gravimetric analysis, gel chromatography, etc. The properties of PUA have been also tested, such as curing rate, hardness. The results indicate that the heat resistance of PUA was improved and the chain extension reactions did not occur. In addition, the curing time is only 6-8 s, the hardness reaches 3 H, and the surface can be completely cured.(4) The kinetics of photocuring of the amine modified PUA with different types and contents of photoinitiators and reactive diluents were investigated. The result suggests that photo-initiation efficiency of TPO is highest with content ranging from 5% to 7%. Double bond conversion rate decreases with the increase of the functionaly and contents of reactive diluents, respectively.(5) The application of as-prepared PUA was studied in the area of vacuum plating paint. The corresponding photocureable coating formulation was proposed in this paper, and the fundamental properties of the PUA prepared by above formulation were determined. The result indicates that the PUA has a potential application in field of primer and finish of vacuum plating.
