In recent years, polymer flooding technology has been widely used in various fields. Amphiphilic polymer can overcome the traditional shortcomings of polymeric flooding agent. During the process of amphiphilic polymeric flooding, amphiphilic polymer and oil can form a kind of stable emulsion. It affects flow resistance of porous media and recovery factor. So the flow and profile control characteristics of amphiphilic polymer emulsion in porous media need a further study.Under Daqing reservoir condition, we selected out optimal a kind of commercial amphiphilic polymer, which mixed the Daqing oil could form stable, uniform particle size distribution and strong viscoelasticity O/W emulsion system by bottle method, rheological method and interfacial tension method. And then we conducted the experiments of flow comparative, effect factors of flow and profile control evaluation on the amphiphilic polymer O/W emulsion system.The flow characteristics of amphiphilic polymer O/W emulsion were revealed: disperse phase emulsified oil droplets plug the throat and the viscosity of the emulsion system is greatly improved by amphiphilic polymer. What’s more, supramolecular networks formed by high concentration amphiphilic polymer make a strong physical plugging on the throat. The flow resistance and fluctuation of amphiphilic polymer O/W emulsion are greatly enhanced by the interaction of emulsified oil droplet and amphiphilic polymer. The physical parameters and injection condition have great influence on the amphiphilic polymer O/W emulsion, which directly affect plugging result.The water plugging rate of amphiphilic polymer O/W emulsion is higher than the oil plugging rate of it. The result of the profile control of amphiphilic polymer O/W emulsion on the porous media which is large extreme difference permeability is not ideal. And the above phenomenon is caused by the limitation of the particle size of oil droplet. The result, that the profile control of amphiphilic polymer O/W emulsion on the porous media with a large extreme difference permeability, become better when the particle size of oil droplet or amphiphilic polymer concentration increases. The recovery efficiency of amphiphilic polymer O/W emulsion is higher than that of HPAM/DWS-3 O/W emulsion or amphiphilic polymer in homogeneous cores and heterogeneous cores.A ercolation model was developed for the amphiphilic polymer O/W emulsion system. The flow model was resolved using Eclipse software on the basis of concept formation model. The effect of parameters on the recovery were discussed.
