At present, the supramolecular crystal engineering is a popular academic topic, particularly transition metal Complexes self-assembly formed by the molecular. Because of combining organic composition and inorganic composition, they could become a variety of novel compounds. If their structure can be measured, people will enhance awareness about organic materials.Synthesis of organic molecular materials is the most important part of the organic functional materials in the study, which are having captured scientists’ eyes that are simple synthesizing, low costing, stable and functional. In the development of organic molecular materials, it is very critical that synthesis and preparation of organic functional molecules. Tetrafulvalene(TTF)and its derivatives have a great prospect, which are treated as good organic electron donor, in the synthesis of multifunctional organic molecules material. In this paper, three novel coordination Complexes are successfully synthesized by solvothermal methods and characterized on their crystal structure and electrochemistry. This paper analyzed and discussed that the methods tobuild coordination polymers with self-assemble based on rigid aromatic carboxylic acid, and their relationships and rules about structure and properties. The main results are as follows:1. Design the target compounds and explore reasonable convenient route to synthesize two types of TTF-carboxylic acid derivatives. They are single methyl benzoate-TTF- disulfide derivative(Compound 1), and double TTF- sulfur acid methyl disulfide derivative(Compound 2), which are characterized by NMR and IR spectroscopy to prove structure correct and study light physical and redox properties of the Compound by UV-vis and electrochemistry.2. Two kinds of original metal organic Complexes A and B are obtained, using the above mentioned Compound 2 as a primary ligand and the transition metal nitrates as the central ion. With Single crystal X-ray diffractometer test, the single crystal structure of the two Complexes have been obtained. Complex A is a Compound that Compound 2 and 1,3-propanediamine are grafted on the metal Zn ions together, stretching along one dimensional direction. Complex B is a Compound that Compound 2 and 2,2-dipyridyl are jointly coordinated with the metal ion Cu, building a dual-core cage structure. Finally, the two Complexes are characterized, including infrared spectroscopy, XRD diffraction and electrochemistry, and the test results are analyzed and discussed.3. As a continuation of the group’s previous work, 4-Py-TTF-4-Py is selected as basic ligand, which takes participate in joint coordination to the metal ion Co with 4,4’-azo-benzene dicarbxylic acid and water, becoming alayered Complex. In the study of its crystal structure, a large amount of hydrogen bonds can be found between azobenzene-4,4’-dicarboxylic acid and water molecules. These hydrogen bonds not only tighten symmetric unit cell, but also construct a layered stacking structure of crystal.
