Recent years, Titanium and Titanium alloy’s excellent competences have been receiving a lot of attention recently. Titanium alloy embraces lots of advanced advantages such as high intensity, corrosion resistance, thermal performance, stability, plasticity and high chemical activity, which is widely used in aerospace, oil exploration, medical apparatus and instruments, ocean development, and many other fields. However, when manufacturing titanium alloy, a large amount of heat produced during the process is hard to release through the machine due to the low thermal conductivity. What’s more, out of its low resistance of heat, the temperature rises too fast partly, which leads to increasing temperature of the tip, thus decreasing the using time of the tip.Therefore, the Titanium alloy belongs to one of the difficult-cutting material.At present, for processing hard cutting materials and more to the special processing methods. Wire cutting is one of them. As the first country that developed the high-speed wire-cut EDM, China has made great progress no matter in the mechanical structure, or numerical control technology field. Recent years, with its excellent performance and advantage, high-speed wire-cut EDMhas been paid more and more attention and is widely used in aerospace, medical equipment and precision machining industry.For Titanium alloy Ti-6-Al-4V high chemical activity, low thermal conductivity, so by using the fast walking wire edm wedm processing is not very easy. Thus, it’s very necessary to study on Titanium alloy manufacturing EDM’s performance to improve the processing speed and processing quality.This paper mainly regards high-speed wire-cut EDM’s electrical parameters as the controlled variable factor and studies on these electrical parameters’ s effect on the surface quality of Titanium alloy and speed of processing. Using orthogonal test method, According to the material properties, the proper range of each parameter is determined, the test is produced. Through extreme difference analysis and variance analysis, the influence of various parameters is classified with their degree and best parameter to achieve the best effect is calculated.BBD surface response experiment is adopted. Based on the Design- Expert software and data analysis, it is concluded that the material removal rate and surface roughness and the electrical parameters fitting equation of the relationship between, describing the two test indexes of 3D response surface figure at the same time. In this way, the optimization of the area can be intuitively expressed and the optimal electric parameters combination can be estimated.By using neural network BP neural network are simulated. By collecting a large number of data, based neural network system, the system internal torepeated training data, makes the system gradually become ideal value, and then to forecast the need forecasting data, it is concluded that approximation.A large number of experiments that aim to study on EDM parameters’ influence on the performance index are produced. Through orthogonal experiment, it is concluded that the factors of influences on the targets of different size; By surface response test, intuitive that optimize area; Through the neural network, the results of the test data for the ideal prediction.
