Baihua lake is one of the important water source and tourist spots in gui zhou,what we focus on is the lake environment and pollution. But since baihua lake builted, polluted by surrounding all aspects of pollution sources, especially from 1970 to 1997, the wastewater from Organic Chemical Plant which used catalytic process to produce Mercury Poses a serious mercury pollution into baihua lake. Along with the people from all walks of life increased awareness of environmental protection to baihua lake, Began to implement a series of protection measures, Such as related technical reform and strengthen pollution control measures, Baihua lake mercury wastewater relatively reduced, but there is still a small amount got into the baihua lake. recent years, the govement strengthened the controlment of baihua lake pollution, Shouted out "two lakes and one reservoir " control project, set up the baihua lake environmental protection agency, strengthen the protection efforts, strictly to cut off the mercury sewage discharged into lakes and collectors to ban the cages, and carried out a series of environmental pollution restoration,baihua lake environment became better and better, eutrophication level showed a trend of decline. This study system ly analyzed the mercury levels of water in baihua lake lake, lake sediments and all types of aquatic animals, fishes, and through the research to do exploration and expound of baihua lake pollution level, then compare the research results and the research results in different periods espensly the result of yanhaiyu in 2004, provide quantitative information support to baihua lake pollution control effectiveness. The main conclusions are as follows:1, the mercury content in baihua lake are averagely6.03±0.50ng/L,the content sharp droply than the results of 22.4 ng/L in 2004 which analysis ed by Dr Yan, after pollution control work in baihua lake recent years, pollution source reduced greatly mercury in water, mercury levels in lakes water has fallen sharply.2, baihua lake mercury content in the surface sediment averagely 432.3±29ng/g, compared with the results of the analysis in the period which seriously polluted, the total mercury content in sediment down significantly, from upstream to downstream sediment size order of mercury are content > middle > downstream, methyl mercury content in the sediment is reduced significantly, but compared with foreign natural lakes and other lakes with basin, methyl mercury content in baihua lake sediments is relatively high.3, the total mercury content in fish of baihua lake did,t change significantly compared to the serious pollution, some predatory fish such as yellow, spicy diced mercury appeared rising trend, fish mercury levels in the lakes did,t fall when it falled in water.4, the total mercury content in baihua lake fish, methyl mercury, Me Hg/THg affected by various factors, these factors are: the mercury content in the lake, the feeding of all kinds of fish, life of water in the lakes, the position of the food chain.5, a series of pollution control measures, especially in recent years the baihua lake "two lakes and one reservoir " control project puted forward by the guizhou government achieved obvious effect, effectively control the baihua lake the whole of mercury pollution in lake system, reduces the mercury in a lake.
